The next ship was following the Peter Cresswell fairly closely.
The Herbert C. Jackson as she enters the St. Marys River system.
From afar, she looks pretty delicate. Almost like she could snap in half.
And what a difference distance from the ship makes. From up close, they look so huge. Buried in the river, they look tiny.
Another shot of her.
I briefly caught her at Sherman Park.
The Jackson loaded at Marquette. She is carrying taconite for the Rouge River steel mill. She will make this run several times a season.
I will have to say that she is a pretty sleek looking boat.
A shot of her pilothouse.
She continues down.
I headed back to Four Mile Beach to catch her. The nice beam shot.
A shot of her stern.
Two classics meet.
