The John J. Boland at the Soo

The last ship for the day was the John J. Boland.  She was following the Mesabi Miner downbound.  Given the pace of the Mesabi Miner and the fact that I was getting hungry, I wouldn't see her actually pass through the locks.
She has appeared on this blog in the past though.
She is one of the smaller ships built to replace some of the older ships on the lakes.
She kind of reminds me of her larger cousins.
So we went and ate dinner and were able to catch her as she was heading down the river.
The sun was starting to set, so it gave for some nice lighting.
 A shot of her superstructure.
 And again.
As she starts to head down the river.

And one last shot before I left.
