Survival Flight uses 3 Bell 340 Helicopters for rapid transport of emergency patients within a 200 mile radius of Ann Arbor, Michigan. It also has access to a couple fixed wing aircraft for further distances. The pilots are IFR rated so that they can fly in inclement weather (because you know, we never have that in Michigan). It has been in service for over 20 years.

The helicopter as it was passing right over.

I saw a lot of the Survival Flight helicopters (I was a north campus guy at M). The walkway to the school of music is a perfect place to watch them heading towards the hospital.
