Thunder Over Michigan 2010 - Part 9

The last part of the Air Show was an F/A-18 Hornet from VFA-106 "Gladiators" which is a squadron based on the East Coast and is used primarily used for training. This particular Hornet was flown by a Marine Aviator.

The Hornet turning away.

A pass.

The Hornet in a carrier landing configuration.

Another turn.

Climbing up.

What is called a high alpha (or angle of attack) pass. The plane was moving with a ground speed of a around 110 miles per hour.

Another pass.

I think they might have cut the Hornet show a little short because it was a little on the windy side. It was still cool though.
