The Manistee in Port Huron

So then I decided to head down to Port Huron.  I was hoping to catch some shots of the Port Huron to Mackinac Yacht Race but it turns out I was too late.  Oh well, will have to put that one on my radar for next year I guess.
Instead I ended up catching the Manistee.  It's not quite what I was hoping to catch but oh well.  She was at the Maritime Center but I wanted pictures of her by the Blue Water Bridge, so I hurried over to the park.
Despite the fact that about half the city was closed off, I was able to make it in time and I managed to catch the mostly straight on shot.
I kind of like this picture but I posted it more because of the boat cutting in front of her.  I'm pretty sure this picture makes it look closer than it is but it is still dangerous.  A ship like this can not stop on a dime.
A relatively clean shot of the Manistee.  I really like some of the vantage points in Port Huron.
 Another shot.
A shot of her pilothouse.  Like many ships on the Great Lakes, she is worked pretty hard.
An almost straight on shot of her.
A better straight on shot of her.  I would have liked it a little better without the casino in the background.
And then she starts to move out of view.
And I get the shot I wanted.
And one more shot of her stern as she heads out to Lake Huron.
