The Convair 440

I like planes in all forms whether they are modern fighter jets, old warbirds or even civillian airliners. The next plane is an airliner from the late 40's.
The aircraft was designed by a request from American Airlines to replace the venerable DC-3. The original design was designated the 240 but was considered too small and was unpressurized.

The 440 came out of this design and was used by the airlines until the 60's and other people until now. This particular plane is used to find mine sites.
