The Harpoon had an improved bomb load over the Ventura. Because of the length of the wing, there were issues with it wrinkling. This delayed entry in the war until 1944.
After this, it was a pretty popular aircraft.
It was retired from service shortly after the war. Some of these planes were converted to executive aircraft usage.
