Comerica Park was opened on April 11, 2000 against the Seattle Mariners. It replaced Tigers Stadium which sat at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull and served the Tigers for a long time. Tigers Stadium was a nice place to watch a game but it was getting long in the tooth and was showing signs of its age. It's taken a while but Comerica is finally starting to grow on me.
Out in the Centerfield area there are statues dedicated to the Tigers that have made it to the Hall of Fame. This one is Ty Cobb.
The flagpole near the scoreboard. The flag below is a dedication to Sparky Anderson.
One of the Tiger statues. There are several statues around the stadium.
The other statue on the scoreboard.
The scoreboard itself.
Since some of the park is sponsored by GM, they have GM cars in the centerfield area.
The Al Kaline statue. I don't remember him as a player, but I do remember him when he would cover the TV broadcasts for the Tigers with George Kell.
Hal Newhouser.
The Charlie Gehringer statue.
