A Stop at The Bridge

When you say "The Bridge" in Michigan, pretty much everyone knows what you mean by that.  The Bridge of course refers to the Mackinac Bridge.
So I was hoping to get some pictures of the Northern Lights with the Bridge in the foreground.  Like I said in the last post, it was a nice enough day and the sun was shining pretty well.  I kind of liked the way the light was hitting the bridge.
I decided to use another lens.
I also brought my lens ball with me.  I'm not sure how I like this shot though.
 I loved all the colors.
 The dusk looked pretty cool.
It wasn't long before the lights came on.
I think there were high winds yesterday, so there were cars being escorted.

I think this is my favorite picture of the bunch.
I was starting to get late and I didn't really feel like driving back through all hours of the night.  So I took one more picture of the Bridge before heading home.  We ended up taking US-23 back in the hopes of seeing the Northern Lights over the water somewhere.  That was not to be.  Oh well, may have to try this again when there is a better forecast and we can actually stay up there.

The other surprising thing was how many people were up in Mackinaw City.  It looked like many of the hotels were full (at least the ones that were open).  Because of the snow up there, many of the parking lots were full of people waiting to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
