Waiting for Zee Germans

I was actually thinking of heading down to Cleveland on Saturday but the weather didn't look like it wanted to cooperate with me.  It started to rain about the time I would have gotten back, so it was probably a good thing I didn't go.  I didn't want to pass up on a day photographing though, so I decided to head over to Metro Airport.  It looked like I could catch a few planes while I was there.
First up was a 717 that was taxiing towards the runway.  I kind of like this planes, so I had to take a picture of it.
You can kind of see part of the Detroit skyline in the background.  She was getting ready to head off to New Orleans.
An A319 getting ready to take off.  It was heading to Reagan International Airport in Washington D.C.
One of the planes I was waiting for was a 757.
This particular one was coming in from Fort Myers, Florida.
Smoking the mains, as they say.
The 757 taxiing to its gate.
 One more shot.
I was taking these shots from the parking garage.  I kind of like the pictures with some sort of background in them.
This particular plane was a 767 arriving from Frankfurt.
 The plane touches down.
And continues on its way to the terminal.
This is a new plane that Delta is adding to its fleet.  It is known as an Airbus 220 but originally started out as the Bombardier C Series.  The plane first flew in 2013 and was awarded it's transportation certificate in 2015.  In 2017, Airbus acquired a majority stake in the series and was able to rename the plane.  It was introduced in 2016 by Swiss International Airlines.  Delta is in the process of introducing these to its fleet.  I'm not sure what plane it is replacing though.
An Airbus A319 arriving from LaGuardia.
 It comes close to landing.
With a smoke of its tires, it touches down.
 And taxis to the gate.
A Fed Ex MD-11 on its way to Memphis.
The plane I was waiting for was the Lufthansa A340 arriving from Frankfurt.
I'm not sure how much longer this plane will fly here before they switch over to the 747 but I do like to catch it.
It gets closer to the ground.

Again with a smoke of tires, it touches down.
 An A321 arriving from Phoenix.
A 737 arriving from San Francisco.
Another 717, this one was arriving from Minneapolis.
 Another angle.
An A321 arriving from San Diego.
 Another 737.
This one was arriving from Salt Lake City.
 A 757 coming in.
This one was arriving from Seattle.
 One more view.
And we ended with an A320 from Kansas City.
