A Couple Pictures of Sandusky, Ohio.

Sandusky is probably best known as the home of Cedar Point.  There have been people here since the 1700's and probably earlier.  Both the French and English has trading posts here.  Because of its location on the bay, there were forts here as well.  The city itself was established in 1818.

It's name is derived from the Wyandot word "saundustee" which means "water.  The French transliterated the word as Chinouski.  It appeared as Lake Sandouske on an 1733 French map.  This was later Anglicized as Sandusky.  Prior to the abolition of slavery, Sandusky would be a major stop on the Underground Railroad as they would continue from here across Lake Erie to Ontario.  In 1835, Sandusky was the groundbreaking site for the Mad River and Lake Erie Railroad.  At one time, it's main industry was paper making.
The Erie County Courthouse.  I think Sandusky became the County Seat over Huron because of some shenanigans.
Looking down the road.  This looks like an area zoned religious.
