As I was heading home tonight, I saw this guy flying around. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out a good place to get better pictures.
It is a Bell 407 which is a derivative of the Bell 206 series. This particular one is owned by the Michigan State Police. I'm pretty sure I've got pictures of this from before.
I want to say that it was orbiting over there area where I-94 and US-23 meet up. Apparently there was an accident there.
The Bell 406 is powered by an Allison 250-C47B engine which gives it 813 horsepower. The top speed is 140 knots and cruising speed is around 130 knots.
The Bell 406 can get up to about 18,000 feet in altitude although I'm sure this one wasn't flying quite that high.
