The Tug New Jersey

As the Escanaba was preparing to get underway, I noticed that the tug New Jersey was heading up to greet her.

 The New Jersey was built in 1924 and is 78 feet long.

 She is owned by Great Lakes Towing.

 I love the way these tugs look.  They look so squat but it's amazing how powerful they are.

 The nose is covered so that they don't damage the paint of the ship they are pushing.

 Although, I think she was out mostly for guidance.

 Anyway, she was pretty neat to see.
