Fort Gratiot Lighthouse

Also in Port Huron is the Fort Gratiot lighthouse which is Michigan's oldest lighthouse and was built in 1829. The lighthouse itself is on an active Coast Guard facility but there is a park right next to it so you can get a good view.

The tower stands at 85 feet and the light is visible to 21 miles. The light is still active.

The keepers house was built in 1874.

Another shot of the lighthouse.

The lighthouse has been transferred to Port Huron. I hope this means that it will get a new paint job and stuff.
