Peche Island Lighthouse

My next stop was the Peche Island Lighthouse that is now in Marine City.

Peche Island is in the Detroit River and is now uninhabited. The lighthouse was built in 1908 and in the 1980s was starting to collapse. The tower was replaced and the old one was built in Marine City where it now stands.

A shot as you are approaching the lighthouse.

The tower. It still has its lens even though it is now inactive.

Looking up at the tower.

Another shot looking up.

I can't really call this a faux lighthouse since it once served as a lighthouse but it is pretty close.
