A Heron Makes an Appearance

There are many things that I like about boatwatching.  Generally it requires going to places that are going to be peaceful by nature.  When the ships appear, they are so calming and they move with such a purpose.  It is awe inspiring to see something that is longer than many buildings are tall is moving.  And occasionally, I get to see wildlife.

 As I was taking pictures at Del Ray, this heron decided to come in for a landing.

 They are pretty graceful looking in flight.

 He decided to take a spot on the dock.

 He kind of looks like a dockhand in this shot.
