The Independence Bridge from the Air

The Independence Bridge connects Wilder Road to Trumbull Street in Bay City, Michigan.  It was built to replace the Belinda Street Bridge which was right next to it.

Construction was completed in 1976, so hence the name.  Since the State Highway ends about 3 miles before it, it was built entirely by the city of Bay City and has to be maintained by Bay City.  I think it was recently determined that it would be taken over by a company that runs toll bridges.  I'm not sure when that will go into effect though.
