And we return to the glory of color.
After finishing Grand Boulevard, I decided to head down Fort Street to go to the casino. I liked the looked of the sun hitting the buildings and I think this makes for a nice view of Detroit anyway.
From this vantage point, you can see many of the historic Detroit buildings. I can't begin to name all of them though.
As I was getting closer.
I kind of liked this shot. Especially with the lines leading towards the center.
I'm not sure what building this is.
This is the MGM Grand. It is one of three casinos that were built in Detroit. It is owned by the same folks that run the MGM casinos in Las Vegas. I think that the city is pinning a great number of hopes on the casinos but if they had done their research, they would have found that many of those hopes wouldn't be realized. Yes, the casinos generate some tax money but the other money that goes into them tends to stay there. They have restaurants and what not and aren't a huge benefit to the surrounding businesses. But they are still fun.
As I was heading back to my car, I looked out the parking structure. I liked the look of the moon over the city. Sadly, I'm not versed in HDR, so I couldn't quite make the moon look proper.
But I still liked the view.
