The Ludington Lighthouse

The main reason that I wanted to go to Ludington was to get a picture of the lighthouse there. I have most of the other lighthouses along the western side of the state but I don't have Ludington.

The station was established in 1871. The current light was first lit in 1924. It is structurally integrated into the tower.

The original light was a fourth order Fresnel lens but that was replaced with Tideland Signal 300 acrylic light in 1995.

The fog signal building is integrated into the tower which stands 57 feet tall.

A shot of the end of Pere Marquette Harbor (which is what the harbor is called).
