And now, our main attraction.
I saw that the Cuyahoga was on her way to Cleveland. I was almost thinking about heading down there to catch her but it wouldn't be until around 7 or 8 that she would be arriving and I didn't want to be out late. I figured that catching her in Detroit would be pretty good. As you can see, it was a pretty nice day and cool enough that I wasn't getting a ton of heat haze.
I thought I had a better view of the skyline with the ship but this one will have to do. I like these shots better when the ship is bigger.
She gets closer. This is one of the reasons why I like shooting from Riverside. You get a good backdrop of Belle Isle.
She makes the turn for passing the Ambassador Bridge. There is a slight turn here and it gives a good angle of the ship.
I think I like the three quarters view the best. It gives a good idea of the size of these ships. It gives a good idea of the configuration as well.
Like I said, she was heading to Cleveland which is about 7 to 8 hours away from Detroit. It probably would have been doable to catch her there but I didn't really want to be there that late.
I think she was carrying a load of stone because I think she was coming down from Bruce Mines.
A shot of Caesar's Casino in Windsor in the back.
She comes close to the bridge.
she is approached by the Westcott (more on that in the next post).
And the start of a shot with the Ambassador Bridge in the background. The cloud formations were pretty nice too.
The Westcott starts to do its delivery.
One more shot as the Cuyahoga passes the Ambassador Bridge.
After a sound of the horn by both boats, the Wescott starts to peel off.
A shot of the Cuyahoga's bow.
The Cuyahoga passes the Mississagi and both fleet mates salute each other.
And the Cuyahoga continues on her way to Cleveland.
A sort of shot of her stern.
