Fun With the Range Lights

 So on Saturday I decided to head up to Port Huron.  I knew that I could at least catch one ship that I've been wanting to catch.  While I was waiting for that ship, I saw the range lights and realized that I could use my drone to demonstrate the purpose of the range lights.

Range lights are used to show if you are lined up with the channel.  If you are on the right line for them, they should be one on top of each other.  In this shot,  I would have been off.

Since they are both on top of each other, I would have been lined up with the channel.
