The next ship was following fairly closely to the Spruceglen and passed shortly after the American Mariner.
The Federal Ems is one of several salties that travel on the Great Lakes. Their season is coming to an end soon, as they have to go through the Welland Canal. It technically closes on December 26th but will allow ships through until December 31st with prior arrangements. Since most of the salties continue past the Welland, they have to be clear by then.
The Federal Ems is owned by the Intership Navigation Company and is registered in Cyprus but she is run by Federal Navigation.
I think she departed from Thunder Bay with a load of grain. She is heading towards Montreal but I'm not sure where after that.
She was a little clearer in the fog though.
She heads into the fog bank.
And almost disappears.
And she continues on her way.
