Frequent visitors to this blog know that I like lighthouses. Since Fort Gratiot is the oldest lighthouse in the state and I was in the neighborhood, it was worth a stop.
Sadly (for my photography purposes), they were working on it. Based on my pictures from last year, this was a necessary thing because it looked like it was in some degree of disrepair. While, it doesn't make for nice pictures, I'm glad that we are spending the money to restore these nautical treasures.
Another angle of the lighthouse.
Looking up at the tower.
I think this was the keeper's house.
A view from the trees. So I'm going to guess that the next time I visit, she will look much much nicer.
