My travels on the mall took me past the Smithsonian Statue.

It is a very impressive looking building and designed by the same architect that designed the St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. You can see the church like influences.

The statue is of Joseph Henry, who served as the first secretary of the Smithsonian.

Looking up at the spire.

Another shot of the front. I kind of wish I had more time in D.C. but I guess this means I'll have to go back.
